About Us
Local 4 Restaurant is the creation of three individuals, Victoria Worlidge, Nancy Gilmour and Theo Morra. After years in the service industry (serving, cooking and managing), the trio decided to open a place with great food, a comfortable atmosphere and friendly service, a place they would like to go. With experience in great restaurants (Gio’s, 5 Doors North, 7 Numbers, Safari and Mitzi’s Sister) and traditional pubs (The Sailor’s Dickey and The Bow and Arrow), combining the ideas of excellent food with the relaxed pub experience made perfect sense.
With the same theme of connecting a “local” pub with great food, Local 4 is filling the void between Church and Yonge. It provides a perfect downtown location to meet for drinks or dinner. (Located one block North of Wellesley Station).
The raised street front patio gives a secluded feeling within a hub of activity. The interior is warm and inviting with dark reds, leafy greens and a subtle asian influence in the accents and woodwork.
Opened June 2004 on Pride Weekend, Victoria, Nancy and Theo have been hands-on owners ever since.
Victoria Worlidge spent two years in Vancouver training as a Pastry Chef. All Desserts are made in-house and changed on a weekly basis. You may recognize her signature cakes in a handful of restaurants around Toronto, as she supplies desserts under her cake company “Local Girl Makes Good”. Victoria is also a service industry veteran, having served and cooked in Toronto and Vancouver for ten years.
Nancy Gilmour is the creative force behind Local 4’s excellent food. Along with her extensive experience in the service industry, Nancy is a trained and successful Visual Artist, selling paintings in Toronto, Montreal and Spain. With only a love of food, and an obvious artistic flair, she took her skills to the kitchen and created a satisfaction-guaranteed, globally-influenced menu. From the Bourbon Back Ribs, to the Sweet Potato Wontons, everything is original and made on the premises.
Theo Morra, an “original” at Gio’s Italian Food, and Five Doors North, brings his natural charm and hospitality to every table. His real estate, renovation, and décor experience helped him find the space, and create the cozy interior and atmosphere that is Local 4.
